I host the Heartland POD to help bring attention to the issues facing folks not just in the biggest of cities but across the heartland.
Millions of Americans live in cities, towns, and villages connected not by six-lane interstates, but winding two-lane roads, and the fabric of generations spent farming the land.
Progress in the areas of climate, health care, and community are not red issues, blue issues, city or rural. They impact all of us, in real ways.
Through the Heartland POD I hope to improve the conversation and bring better understanding to the positive impact that progressive issues have for all.
Rachel studied theater at the University of Southern California chiefly because she was terrible at math and grew to resent snow after spending her formative years in St. Louis, MO and Denver, CO.
That happened over 30 years ago, and since then she has done many things badly, like making films (she made one feature in the 90s and would rather not say anything else about it, thank you very much), and caring about sports (listen…she tried).
Of the things she’s done successfully that she’ll admit to in public, that list includes: professional writing; marketing consulting; writing/performing solo work; PR/marketing roles for early and mid-phase startups; and talking in front of a hot mic.
Mostly, she just wants you to assure her that you think she’s very smart and that you like her cooking. She currently resides in St. Louis with her husband, and, at the time of this writing, an extremely geriatric dog.
Sean Diller is a political consultant working with progressive candidates and campaigns around the country.
Born and raised in rural Missouri, Sean has a Political Science degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and JD from City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law.
He is a co-founder of the Heartland POD, sharing his political insights and analysis on Talking Politics every Monday, and High Country most Wednesdays.
He lives in Denver with his wife and two daughters.
